In a grey spring drizzle, chants of “freedom, freedom,” rang out from under the peaked roof of Lion’s Pavilion at Zwicks’s Park as renegade politician Randy Hillier told a peaceful anti-lockdown rally in Belleville Friday that government has no jurisdiction ordering people to stay home.
Before marching upon City Hall to speak out against a two-week extension to the four-week stay-at-home measures by Premier Doug Ford Friday, the crowd of upwards of 150 people gathered freely sans masks in tight quarters under the outdoor shelter.
