We are continuing with our ongoing daily work, and that includes Behavioral Health options for people in the city as part of our Behavioral Health reform as part of health s. F. We are currently establishing a health center, to be established at 180 jones, with a particular focus on methamphetamine users. This will have a 15bed capacity, take care of many more than that over a 24hour period. This is really the beginning of a larger expansion if this initial phase is successful at providing more lowbarrier opportunities for people to have a place that is safe, that provides Harm Reduction approaches and also not

And i just want to also really thank member ting to have worked closely with us to secure these funds in support of our neighborhood in the west side of San Francisco growing our capacity to get rental buildings. In my district over the last ten years, ive last 400 units of Affordable Housing. On the east side of San Francisco, there are several amazing nonprofit organizations that help stabilize these buildings through acquisition and property management. On the west side, we simply do not have the organizational capacity to meet this need
These are other 24 7 facilities which this Response Team could take people to and get them the help they need. Through the chair, i just think its important to talk about how this team is distinct from the h. O. T. Team and the e. M. S. I know it feels like a lot of teams, but we fought to make sure that the language requires coordination amongst all of these teams. They really do have distinct roles. So the h. O. T. Team is not supposed to be experts on Behavioral Health. Their mandate is to outreach and engage with people who are experiencing homelessness. Lets remember, not all people experiencing homelessness have Mental Health or addiction issues. So they are they have another role entirely. Its about well, thats a role that not all of us feel comfortable with now and were always constantly battling out, but it is distinct and separate from the issue of Behavioral Health. The e. M.
