Santa Clarita Hearing Center Discusses Different Types Of Hearing Loss
Santa Clarita Hearing Center guides clients through different types of hearing loss.
While some people may think they are experiencing hearing loss, they might just be experiencing a buildup of earwax in the ears. Earwax buildup can make you feel like you are losing your hearing.
Santa Clarita Hearing Center offers Cerumen Management to help with this. Cerumen is another term for earwax. Earwax lubricates the ear canals and keeps dust and debris out. However, sometimes too much cerumen can build up and create a blockage. Hearing loss is not the only symptom of this. Other symptoms include earache, ringing in the ears and ear pressure.
Santa Clarita Hearing Center Discusses When You Should Get Your Hearing Screened
Owner of Santa Clarita Hearing Center Dr. Ginny Veloz discussed why it is essential to have your hearing checked.
Dr. Veloz reminded everybody that 50 years old is the age where you should be making an appointment for a hearing screening. Although you may be hearing fine at this age, there can be underlying issues you may not know about. With a hearing screening, Dr. Veloz can track any changes going on with your hearing that you may not even know about.
“There will be changes. It’s a normal part of life. It’s wear and tear on the ears. You think about it, the ears are always on. Even when we’re sleeping, they never shut off. Once the ears are developed, they’re on and don’t ever shut off,” Dr. Veloz said.
