Florida men arrested following high-speed chase

BMPD release BAY MINETTE, Alabama Three Florida men were arrested Wednesday following a high-speed chase with Bay Minette police officers through areas of North Baldwin, including residential areas of Bay Minette. According to a release issued Thursday by Bay Minette Police Chief Al Tolbert, the chase began after officers responded to a call for service at approximately 10:36 a.m. Wednesday at the American Pride Gas Station on Hand Avenue for a vehicle and three male subjects who had been parked in front of the store for an extended amount of time. When officers arrived, they made contact with the driver of the vehicle, Mark Allen Snellgrove, 28, of Crestview, Florida. During the encounter Snellgrove reportedly gave officers a false name. When the officer confronted Snellgrove about the false information he provided, Snellgrove attempted to drive away.

Mobile man sentenced to 446 years for abuse of minors in Bay Minette

Posted Anthony Couch BMPD release BAY MINETTE, Alabama A Mobile man was sentenced to 446 years in prison on Thursday, Jan. 21 for the 2017 sexual assault of the daughters of a Bay Minette woman he was dating at the time. According to a release issued Thursday by the Bay Minette police Department, 42-year-old Anthony Lacy Couch of Mobile was sentenced by Judge Scott Taylor on three counts of first-degree sodomy, first-degree forcible rape, second-degree sodomy, misdemeanor sex abuse and felony sex abuse. According to the release, the sentence was the result of a complaint made by a parent of two minor female juveniles that came to the Bay Minette Police Department in July of 2017.

Woman arrested after pursuit, infant found in back seat

    BAY MINETTE, Alabama (WALA) A 28-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday on numerous charges after a brief pursuit Wednesday when police in Bay Minette attempted to stop her for a traffic violation, according to the police department. An infant child was in the back seat of the vehicle Erica Lashay Bryars was driving, according to Bay Minette Police Chief Al Tolbert. Bryars, of Bay Minette, is being held in Baldwin County in lieu of $16,000 bond, according to jail records. “Drugs and firearms were seen in plain view,” Tolbert told FOX10 News. “Search of the car was conducted, synthetic marijuana (spice), marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a handgun were found inside the vehicle. All these items were seized as evidence. A newborn baby was also in the back seat.”
