influence. there s the president, who is looking very much in control, has a pulpit, obviously, a bully pulpit, as he stands beside a republican governor today, and the highest-ranking republican on the senate side. and talking about things that they re getting done. i mean is there someone on the republican side we re not thinking of who can navigate, help navigate this party, the republican party, to a better place? i mean i think about, you know, a jim clyburn on the democratic side, who very quietly could have a tremendous amount of influence. who is the person on the republican side who could be in those groups of folks, talking to people, and actually having them listen? well, chris, i think in terms of the house republican conference, we re going to find out here pretty soon if there is someone else who can step up and unite house republicans.
they refuse to work with the rest of the team, we re going to be forced to work across the aisle to seek that bipartisan leader, and we have some names in mind but we really want to focus on kevin mccarthy right now and that s the important thing. how worried are you about the potential damage that is being done to the republican party? we were showing earlier in hebron, kentucky, where there were a number of bipartisan leaders including joe biden, including mitch mcconnell, including sherrod brown, including mike dewine, who of course is also a republican, governor bashear from kentucky, essentially a democrat, sending a message that government can work, and here is an example of how it is working and we re bringing money home to our state and getting things done. meantime, you have essentially this split screen, congressman, where we re having vote after vote after vote after vote, and as you say, less than 10% of your caucus is not going to,
restrictions. what makes it unique is last night in kentucky around 7:30 as you mentioned when the legislature overrode governor bashear s veto the law took effect immediately. the 72-page labyrinth of a ton of restrictions, none of which can be complied with because as you say, the state hasn t created the infrastructure to comply with the law. so it is a classic catch 22. it s a gotcha moment. there isn t enough time to comply. and that s why provision of care had o to stop in kentucky today. but we filed a lawsuit first thing this morning, as with planned parenthood and we re hoping that we get the abortion accesshe restored. what sort of timing are you hopingre to move this, the lawst on, obviously you re asking for essentially the law to be enjoined, the law to be stopped from being, going into effect, how soon could that scenario be
some of it is their fault but some of it isn t because russia is on the security council, they re a permanent member and they ll veto anything that comes their way but when you re talking about building the case for something that could go to the international criminal court, that all of that effort to build accountability, to document the evidence of war crimes, of which there are many, and of which many people are trying to do that on the ground, i mean, from every angle, documenting that is very important. one of the things we used to say was that all these criminals and thugs eventually face their day in court. and they do. you saw it with molosovic, bashear of sudan. usually, what has to happen is that the government itself in russia has to change for that to happen. so eventually, it will, hopefully. and putin will face his day in court. him and his cronies. and therefore, documenting all those evidences of war crimes is super important. i think one of the things that s really
