Support for north students hit by pandemic from new £100,000 fund | Press and Journal university students support

Sign Up University students in the north affected by the Covid-19 pandemic will be able to receive help from a £100,000 fund. The University of the Highlands and Islands will use the donation from the Barclays 100×100 UK Covid-19 community relief fund to support those experiencing financial hardship and to enhance mental health services. It will help to create 20 scholarships to allow students to continue their studies. The university is one of 100 UK organisations receiving £100,000 donations from the fund, which was set up last April to support organisations helping people and communities impacted by the pandemic.

Barclays donation to NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde to make real difference

Donation to NHS Glasgow to make a real difference for staff Glasgow NHS staff have been given a funding boost to ensure they have access to some much-needed rest.  Barclays donated £250,000 to the Greater Glasgow and Clyde health board to help create new hubs for R&R.  The health board praised the donation which will make a real difference for the workforce.  A network of Staff Rest and Recuperation Hubs will offer space for workers to recharge  and to take a moment to chat to colleagues, eat, or exercise.  Anne MacPherson, of NHSGGC, said: We would like to thank Barclays for their generous donation, and we are delighted that it is being put to such good use.
