He went into the water to swim to the other side of the creek but he never made it back to shore. It is a beautiful spot where Little Hunting Creek meets potomac river, popular with anglers. This morning, there are police boats instead of fishermen, for the search of a missing 16yearold continues. The coast guard brought in their search and rescue chopper, boats equipped with sonar are searching the water. Shortly after 8 00 last night when a teenager went into the water trying to cross from one side of the creek to the other. He got about halfway before he began to struggle by the channel marker where the water gets deep. The current was going out at that time. He was drifting out. Reporter this morning k9 units and officers searched this park just feet away from the school. Investigators say on tuesday evening they saw two teens were smoking marijuana. When they tried to question them they ran through the park so this Morning Police returned to the same area and spent hours looking for possible criminal activity but nothing was found. I think the police are doing the best they can. It is an issue. I think its an issue throughout the county.
