The flyover for Super Bowl LVII, between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs, this Sunday will feature a special commemoration for women in the U.S. Navy.
Pulitzer Prize-winning author Beverly Weintraub outlines just how Zumwalt’s mission to create a better Navy led him to foster policies intended to weed out racism and other ills in his command. Those initiatives also led to the first class of women to train as naval aviators.
Beverly Weintraub spoke with Inside Edition Digital to tell the story of six women who "challenged how things were done inside the Navy and outside the Navy, and really opened the door for generations of women pilots who followed."
