As the number of homeless people in Barbados continues to climb, efforts are being made to establish a national taskforce to end homelessness. However, Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs Kirk Humphrey has stated that the problem of homelessness extends beyond simply providing shelter.
Government will be carrying out assessments of over 6, 000 people on welfare across the country “to clean” the list of persons requiring assistance.
