Seeing this intense unrest tonight after 16 officers were injured last night. On the ground tonight in charlotte as our own steve her began. Theyve got tear gas, mace, rubber bullets and now holding as the police hold that line. Reporter thats right. Can you see the police behind me. About a lun strong. Been out here for more than an hour. Right now theyve pushed the crowd back after a heavy use of tear gas. And mace as well. They are being cursed at from the sidewalk by people. Theyve had bottles hurled at them and fireworks shot at them. At least seven officers have been injured. We dont know about the severity. This demonstration lasted an hour and half.
