In terms of of logistics, how the evening will go, im going to talk a little bit about the topic. Im going to say a few words about my own research, how i came to pursue a topic in civil rights history, and then were also going to talk about a document that i had you read before coming to class, the plan of delano, and were also going to talk a little about your oral histories. Thats sort of the way that the next hour or so will progress. And i want to start off with things i hope you will take away from the course of the evening. This is a role that has been vacant since the 1990s since his mother retired from our board. Clifton thank you for joining , our board and thank you for being here today. [applause] mr.
