Kolkata, June 11: No sooner did Mukul Roy rejoined the Trinamool Congress, few other turncoat leaders in BJP called Roy
âGarbageâ.
Taking to Twitter a turncoat BJP leader Baishali Dalmiya urged Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari to clear alleged âgarbageâ from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
âI would request BJP leader of Bengal Hon. MLA Shri@SuvenduWB ji to expel all the garbage out of Our BJP Party As soon as possible,â stated the Tweet.
Notably, few central BJP leaders on anonymity claimed that Suvendu Adhikari is the âface of the Chief Minister from BJP for 2026 Assembly pollsâ.
A quick analysis by Ashoka University’s Trivedi Centre for Political Data (TCPD) indicates that defection to the Trinamool worked well, while turning away from the ruling party proved costly.
Kolkata: At least two persons were injured in a case of road rage on Monday morning after their respective vehicles got involved in a minor accident. The incident was reported from the Biren Roy Road East near Behala Chowrasta.
One of the injured was identified as Aditya Dalmiya, the son of BJP leader Baishali Dalmiya. The other victim Parijat Laha too was injured, claimed his wife and aunt who were accompanying him in the car. The police later arrested Laha under bailable sections. A separate FIR has been lodged against Aditya, too. Witnesses some pharmacists and rickshaw pullers present at the spot though identified Aditya and his driver as the primary instigators, a charge later vehemently denied by Aditya.

Kolkata: Defecting from the Trinamool Congress (TMC) to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has not been a good decision for most of the stateâs turncoat MLAs, it seems from the election results. Of the 19 sitting MLAs from the TMC, the Left and the Congress who joined the BJP since 2019 and contested on a BJP ticket this time, only five have managed to win.
