Heavy overnight rains in Chamoli district have resulted in a part of the Gairsain-Karnprayag National Highway -109 being washed away near Kalimati, stranding travellers on both sides. The road was washed away about 15 meters on Thursday night. The Badrinath National Highway has also been blocked due to debris falling from the hill near Chhinka.
