Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo, has said that the Bacita Sugar Company, the first Nigerian sugar manufacturer, would start production again in 2023.
Adebayo while Speaking at the official commissioning of the Nigeria Sugar Institute at Jimba-Oja in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State said the commitment of the Federal Government to partner with private investors in sugar industry would accelerate industrialisation and hasten the economic growth of the country.
The minister said that investment already made by the Federal Government and the private sector in sugar industry was capable of creating over 100,000 jobs in agriculture and manufacturing sectors.
