The Minister of Finance placed new conditions on the ailing utility’s R250 billion debt relief and tabled amendments to the Eskom Debt Relief Act to give him power to reduce future allocations.
Tabling his Medium-Term Budget Policy Statement (MTBPS) on Wednesday, Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana said the government wage bill continues to be high and the 2023 wage agreement has further pushed up the cost.
