PITB, LWMC to streamline waste management operations

LAHORE:A meeting was held at Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) regarding the information and communication technology (ICT) initiatives for Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) here on Thursday.
The meeting was chaired by PITB Chairman Azfar Manzoor and LWCM CEO Imran Ali Sultan. The PITB DG e- Governance Sajid Latif and other officials from both organisations were also present.
While discussing different areas of collaboration, special emphasis was laid on the implementation of ICT interventions to streamline the waste management operations of Lahore. “PITB will look into developing a model for automating waste management operations for better staff monitoring, vehicle tracking as well as staff attendance through IRIS (retina based) scanners,” PITB Chairman Azfar Manzoor commented.

PITB is Now Accepting Applications for National Freelance Training Program Across Pakistan
The Ministry of Information Technology & Telecommunication in collaboration with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) is now accepting applications for the National Freelance Training Program (NFTP).
Applications are invited for Technical, Content Marketing & Advertising and Creative Design training to empower the youth, enabling them to work as professional freelancers.

In a review meeting, Chairman PITB Azfar Manzoor said that through this program, more than 22,000 individuals will be trained at 20 centers across the country. So far, this program has recorded USD 95,239 plus earning of students in six months from two successive batches during training.
KPITB to establish NFTP centres, expand NICs

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) has signed agreements for establishment of National Freelance Training Programme (NFTP) Centers and expansion of National Incubation centers in the province.
The KPITB, Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and five universities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa signed agreements for establishment of NFTP centres and expansion of National Incubation Centres (NICs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The NFTP centers will be established at the University of Malakand, Institute of Management Sciences Peshawar and Gomal University Dera Ismail Khan while NICs will be established in Kohat University of Science and Technology and University of Swat.
