its original flight path. 8:11 a.m., a satellite picked up a final ping from the plane which places the last known location of malaysian airlines flight 370 somewhere along 2 massive arks. if it went south, it likely headed deep into the vastness of the indian oceans, not covered by radar. if it went north, it could be anywhere from burma, bangladesh, kazakhstan to uzbekistan. so far, five countries including india and pakistan say their radars did not pick up the plane. 26 countries are now involved in the search for the missing plane, while back in malaysia, the focus is on who might have had the technical expertise and ability to disable two communication systems and fly the plane off course. the malaysian authorities have refocused their investigation into the crew and passengers onboard. among those under investigation, an aviation engineer who was one of the
home, search it and take away those shopping bags, as i saw them on saturday night, of what must be some kind of evidence that they want to go through. so, it took them a week, yes. they have been slow, yes. but now they are going through each and every passenger on board. and by the way, of course, there is also that aviation engineer that was on board. i spoke to his family yesterday. of course, anyone with any kind of aviation expertise will be of particular interest and of high priority, john. i spoke to his father, his mother, who misses him terribly, his step sister, who is just 8 years old. and his father said, i have full confidence my son is not involved. if investigators want to speak to me and my family, they re welcome to. john? as you say, such a sensitive situation, a delicate balance there. one thing investigators can do to bring peace to these families is to investigate thoroughly and rule people out. at a minimum, we ve got to hope that is what happens soon. saima mo
