SAN DIEGO
San Diego elected officials and community members broke ground Tuesday morning on what will become a small park in the southeastern San Diego neighborhood of Valencia Park.
The nearly 1-acre lot on the corner of La Paz Drive and San Bernardo Terrace has been vacant for years, and contributed to
blight and dumping in the community, city officials said. The lot is city property.
Over the next couple of weeks, construction crews will begin removing weeds and preparing to build what will be known as La Paz Mini Park. The project is estimated to cost $2.6 million and should be complete by next
