The request was contained in a letter addressed to President of Senate, Ahmad Lawan, which was read at plenary yesterday. x
In the letter, Buhari said: “In accordance to section 171, sub-section 1, 2 C and Section 4 of 1999 Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, I have the honour to forward for confirmation by the Senate, the underlisted as non-career ambassadors designate.
“The non -career ambassadors designate include Gen. Abayomi Olonisakin (rtd) (Ekiti); Lt. Gen Tukur Buratai (rtd), (Borno); Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), Cross River); Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar (rtd) Bauchi and Air Vice Marshal Mohammed S Usman (rtd) (Kano).”

The Senate on Tuesday received President Muhammadu Buhari’s request to confirm former Service Chiefs as non-career ambassador designates to Nigeria foreign missions.
Buhari’s request for a confirmation is contained in a letter addressed to President of Senate Ahmad Lawan and read at plenary.
Buhari in the letter said: ”in accordance to section 171, sub-section 1, 2 C and Section 4 of 1999 Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, I have the honour to forward for confirmation by the Senate, the underlisted as non-career ambassador designates. x

Suspected armed members of dreaded Boko Haram sect invaded Chabal and other Communities of Magumeri Local Government Area of Borno State on Sunday afternoon and killed two policemen before abducting two others. A Reliable Sources told Vanguard.
The terrorists also in an ambush seized two patrol Vehicles and set ablaze another one along Maiduguri-Chabal- Magumeri 35km Road north of the state capital.
Chabal is less than 22km drive from Maimalari Cantonment, 7 Div Nigerian Army, Maiduguri.
This unfortunate incident is coming on the day all the newly appointed Service Chiefs paid their first on the spot assessment of the security situation in Maiduguri.
