CORPUS CHRISTI - The Los Fresnos Falcon softball team saw their magical 2021 season come to an end Saturday afternoon at the Cabaniss Athletic Complex in Corpus Christi losing two straight games to Austin Bowie in the 6A Regional Semifinals.
The Falcons won game one of the best of three series on Friday needing to win just one of the two potential Saturday contests to advance to the 6A Elite Eight for the first time ever.
LOS FRESNOS - On Thursday the Los Fresnos Falcons Softball Team welcomed members of the community to Memorial Park across from campus to a meet-the-team tailgate party on the eve of game one of their Sweet 16 match-up against 5th ranked Austin Bowie.

On April 1, Texas Longhorns athletics director Chris Del Conte was on a plane with new head basketball coach Chris Beard, watching Beard’s emotions as he processed ending his enormously successful time leading the Texas Tech Red Raiders and prepared himself for a homecoming on the Forty Acres. Those moments solidified Del Conte’s belief that the administration’s top choice was the best choice for the future of Longhorns basketball.
A little farther west and a little while later, UTEP head coach Rodney Terry, the longtime assistant under Rick Barnes, heard the news of Beard’s decision and felt similarly to Del Conte, calling it a “home-run hire” and quickly coming to the belief that Beard’s “gonna blow it out of the water” in Austin, he said during a Zoom meeting with reporters on Wednesday.

BioSentinel gets a step closer to flight. Having completed assembly and a battery of tests, the BioSentinel team at NASA’s Ames Research Center in California’s Silicon Valley is in the final stretch of preparations to ship the spacecraft to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida for launch. BioSentinel’s deep space flight will go past the Moon and into an orbit around the Sun. It’s one of 13 CubeSats that will launch aboard Artemis I, the first flight of the Artemis program’s Space Launch System.
