Advocate Aurora Health says a now-fired employee intentionally removed 57 vials of the Moderna coronavirus vaccine from a refrigerator last weekend, causing them to become ineffective and be discarded. Grafton Police Department said in a statement late Wednesday that it was notified by Aurora shortly after 6 p.m. regarding an employee tampering with vials of the COVID-19 vaccine at its hospital at 975 Port Washington Road. The incident is being investigated by the FBI and the Food and Drug Administration as well as Grafton police, according to the statement.

PICTURED: Milwaukee pharmacist who deliberately spoiled vaccine Rachel Sharp For Dailymail.com and Associated Press © Provided by Daily Mail MailOnline logo Police have arrested a Wisconsin pharmacist accused of deliberately spoiling 57 vials of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine by taking them out of a fridge and leaving them out overnight before 57 people were given the ineffective dose.  Grafton Police said the former employee of the Advocate Aurora Health Hospital in Grafton was arrested Thursday afternoon on charges of first degree recklessly endangering safety, adulterating a prescription drug, and criminal damage to property.  The male healthcare worker has not officially been named. A roster of inmates at Ozaukee County Jail show that Steven Bandenburg, 46, was booked on Thursday on the same charges.
