Yediyurappa will be given the Governor’s role, he is said to have preferred to stay in the
State and build the party rather than taking up the Governor’s post. In his speech, Yediyurappa said he had had even rejected a Cabinet berth offered by Atal Bihari Vajapayee when he was the PM as he wanted to stay in the State.
Brushing off rumours that he was pressurised by the
Central leadership to quit,
BSY said that he was resigning voluntarily and there was no pressure on him to resign. However, sources said that throughout his speeches on Monday, Yediyurappa tried to carefully choose his words so that he doesn’t want to blame the Centre or rake up any controversy.
