As much fun as it’s been to watch live musical performances in our sweatpants from the comfort of our own homes, there’s also a sense of relief to see live performances slowly return to normal.
Last year, the Savannah VOICE Festival had to rearrange its entire season due to COVID. Everyone got creative to continue bringing music to the masses via the Internet.
This year, the festival is able to hold two separate in-person events in May. “Typically, the Savannah VOICE Festival has always had a May event that launches the season,” said Maria Zouves, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Savannah VOICE Festival.

The Office! A Musical Parody will be among the first off-Broadway productions to resume in-person performances in New York City, with a reopening date set for Friday, April 9 at the Jerry Orbach Theater at the Theater Center. The show will play to 33 percent capacity.
The show is reopening with numerous safety protocols in place. Everyone who works in the building, from actors to ushers, will be fully vaccinated, and will be required to wear masks and follow social distancing protocols at all times. The venue has been upgraded with 10 Atmosair Matterhorn 1002 air scrubbers, with added air quality monitors on each floor for patrons. All audience members will be seated in pods, and building capacity limits will always be posted. Covid compliance officers will be on hand, and there will be hourly and daily deep cleanings of the building.

The American Traditions Vocal Competition will be hosting a free outdoor concert at 12 (noon) on Saturday Feb. 13. This 30-minute concert will take place outside a private home located at 426 Abercorn Street. Attendees are welcome to listen to this concert, which is free and open to the public, from the beautiful and spacious Calhoun Square across from the residence, to ensure social distancing.
This concert will feature Assaf Gleizner as the ATC s pianist and 2020 gold medalist Carol J. Bufford. This is the latest installment in the ATC s Give Back Initiative, a love letter to the supportive, unique, and artist-friendly community of Savannah, the organization s home for the past 28 years.
