Mumbai: In a major boost to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) probing the money laundering case against slain underworld gangster Iqbal Mirchi and his family members, a Special Court here on Friday declared his wife and two sons as fugitive economic offenders and also ordered the seizure of their properties in India and abroad.
A Special PMLA court here said that Mirchi s wife Hajra Memon, and his sons Asif Iqbal Memon and Junaid Iqbal Memon are hereby declared as Fugitive Economic Offenders as per Section 12 of the Fugitive Economic Offenders Act, 2018.

Iqbal Mirchi’s family get court notice in PMLA case

Mumbai, Dec 18: A special PMLA court in Mumbai has issued notices to three family members of late gangster Iqbal Mirchi under the fugitive economic offenders law, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) said on Thursday.
The notice has been issued against Junaid Iqbal Memon, Asif Iqbal Memon (sons of Mirchi) and Hajra Memon (wife) under section 10(4) of the Fugitive Economic Offenders (FEO) Act of 2018, the central agency said in a statement.
The ED had moved the court early this month (December 3) to get the three family members of Mirchi declared as violators of this law.
