New container terminals to be built in Hai Phong
A project building container terminals No 3 and 4 at the Hai Phong International Gateway Port in the Lach Huyen Port area was launched in the northern port city on May 12.
With a total length of 750 metres and a width of 50 metres, the two terminals will be able to berth 160 TEU (3,000 DWT) vessels. The project’s total area is 47 ha.
Approved by the Prime Minister on January 9, 2019, the project is scheduled to be totally completed in 2024, one year earlier than planned.

Ba Ria-Vung Tau (VNA) - New waves of investment coming to the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau will push up demand for land rentals at local
industrial parks (IPs), which in turn will need to be expanded.
According to the provincial IPs management board, the province is home to 16 IPs covering a total area of 9,054 ha.
Together they house 469 valid projects worth more than 20.09 billion USD, with occupancy rates standing at 52.35 percent.

HCM City (VNA) - The consumer price index (CPI) in Ho Chi Minh City inched up 0.001 percent in April against March, according to the city’s Statistics Office.
The average CPI for the first four months of 2021 rose 1.4 percent compared to last year’s average.
Among the groups of products and services in the
CPI basket, increases were seen in beverages and tobacco 0.37 percent; garment-textile, headwear and footwear 0.06 percent; equipment and household appliances 0.14 percent; and transportation 0.99 percent.
Meanwhile, restaurant and catering services fell 0.02 percent against the previous month.
The group of housing, electricity, water, and construction materials saw a contraction of 0.29 percent. This included reductions of 0.08 percent in electricity prices, 3.36 percent in clean water price, and 4.87 percent in cooking gas and fuel prices due to adjustments in petrol prices.
Ca Mau province will expand high-quality rice material farming by applying
Ca Mau (VNA) - The
high-quality rice material farming, according to Director of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Thanh Trieu.
Under the province’s planning, local farmers will cultivate rice on an area of some 110,000 ha, with an average yield of 4.7 tonnes per ha by 2025. Ca Mau will strive for a rice output of 520,000 tonnes by 2025, which is expected to then remain stable until 2030.
Trieu said the focus will be sharpened to develop organic rice materials that meet both domestic and international standards as well as promote the value chain of the food.
