Background
MSF OCBA Strategic Plan reasserts the continuity of the course to a decentralized operational management, delegating authority to country management teams with different models defined according to the diversity of context OCBA works. The decentralization model used in Asia is based on the transfer of responsibility and accountability from the HQ by shifting the current cell supervision function to the Asia Coordination Unit (ACU).
The Unit will work supporting MSF OCBA activities in Asia, performing mission level tasks where necessary and Asia Coordination to coherent programming according to the MSF OCBA strategic plan. The ACU will supervise the OCBA MCT teams in Asia and develop & implement planned activities in Asia. The regional deputy medical coordinator will play an integral role in supporting the Asia Unit Medical Advisor/MedCo (this is a combined function in the ACT, where the Medical Advisor fulfils the functional role of TESACO for Asia) in the implementation
