The family of a woman neglected by her granddaughter have hit out at council investigation into the case.
Paula Davidson, of North Street in Bedminster, sacked her 90-year-old grandmother Betty Long’s carer and took over Bristol City Council’s £770-a-week care package herself. But the 41-year-old left the dementia patient alone in a squalid Ashton Drive house strewn with animal faeces, where police found her dehydrated and sitting on an overflowing commode one week before she died in hospital.
