A luxe treehouse for grown-ups: Could this be NZ s coolest hideaway? 26 Apr, 2021 04:42 AM 4 minutes to read Access to the treetop structure is via a swing bridge. Photo / Supplied Otago Daily Times By Ashley Smyth of the Oamaru Mail If putting a treehouse on the side of a cliff, in a forest, with swing bridges, was easy, more people would be doing it. This is what a friend said to Liz Hayes on one of the days when she was questioning the task she and husband Andy had taken on, building their luxury accommodation at Hakataramea Valley in southern Canterbury. There were a few days where the frustration was real, she said.

WMNF loading. Manatee commission okays pumping water from Piney Point gyp stack underground Share this: The Manatee County Commission Tuesday okayed a proposal to pump remaining water from the Piney Point gyp stacks into a deep injection well across the road. The measure passed unanimously despite similar proposals failing in the past. Listen: It’s been over a week since a breach at the former Piney Point phosphate plant opened what could be the final chapter of a dangerous saga 20 years in the making. Commissioners finally moved forward on what to do with the more than 700 million gallons of contaminated process water sitting atop the site’s massive phosphogypsum stacks.

Sargassum Weed – Scientists Research Turning it From Trash to Treasure

ALL AT SEA – Advertisement – Most people didn’t think twice about the occasional strand of seaweed. That changed in 2011 when huge mats of sargassum weed began floating south from the North Atlantic. The sheer masses of sargassum, scientifically known as a type of brown macroalgae or seaweed, got so bad that in 2018 there was a swath covering over 5,000 miles of ocean from the central Atlantic to the Caribbean and from West Africa to the Gulf of Mexico. Now, new research in Florida might show a way to turn this foul-smelling trash into a landscaping treasure. University of Florida Sargassum Research
