The Randolph County Sheriff's Office said a man rammed a deputy's car to evade arrest after he was stopped during a traffic stop near Pisgah Covered Bridge Road.

Asheboro police said a 16-year-old boy and a 25-year-old man were killed in a shooting at an apartment complex Thursday night. A 2-year-old was also shot and is in stable condition, police said.
The shooting happened around 6 p.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex along Coleridge Road and Kemp Boulevard. Once officers arrived, they found a vehicle that had been shot along with the teen boy and 25-year-old Eli Junior Gainey. Both died at the scene. The 2-year-old was also found at the scene with gunshot wounds and was taken to a nearby hospital.
