Performance data for new wheat fungicide released

April 19, 2021, 9:42 am The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) has released UK fungicide performance data for a newly authorised wheat product in that market – Univoq. Based on a new mode of action, Univoq should help protect the long-term efficacy of key wheat fungicides and provide a valuable option for in-season disease control. The broad-spectrum fungicide closely matches leading SDHI/azole combinations in its activity against major foliar wheat diseases. Testing new wheat fungicide product ADAS is the UK’s largest independent provider of agricultural and environmental consultancy, rural development services and policy advice. ADAS representative Jonathan Blake, who works on AHDB-funded fungicide performance trials, said:

Farm to Fork sets the tone for the coming decades

The development of fungicide resistance in net blotch is a real threat for barley producers. The choice on what we put into our sprayers is decreasing over time. The more often we apply the same mode of action in any pesticide the more we select for resistance development. Previous Next As we move into another production year, it may be worth recalling some of the challenges of the three most recent years. In the main, these will be remembered for their droughts, wet spells, planting and harvesting difficulties, very variable yields, mixed quality success and perhaps the fact that they were relatively low disease pressure years.
