Thiruvananthapuram, April 30: The Kerala forest department has received the first signal from the radio collar installed on the wild tusker code named Arikkomban which has been relocated from Chinnakanal in Idukki district to Periyar Tiger Reserve (PTR) in Kumily.
Once sedated, a radio collar will be fixed on Arikomban to track its movement. The pachyderm will be taken out of Chinnakanal and relocated to another forest region, as per a Kerala High Court directive.
