Ranked choice voting: In VA, Arlington sets a new standard

According to a recent nonpartisan analysis, 84% of Arlington voters ranked at least one of the two winners in their top three. This reflects findings in localities in California, Michigan, Minnesota and Utah that have also administered multi-winner RCV elections in the last five years. In each of these datasets, RCV results reflect the will of the greatest number of voters in a crowded field, even if one’s top choice does not win.
