Elders intervene as Oyetola, Aregbesola’s aides differ on ex-gov’s comments

THE elders caucus of the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, on Wednesday, enjoined stakeholders to avoid utterances capable of generating disaffection.
This intervention is coming on the heels of a statement made by the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola.
He, while revalidating his party membership at his Ifofin Ward 8, Ilesa, said, killers have joined the APC.
In a statement by the Chairman of the Elders’ Council, Sola Akinwumi, the elders also welcomed Senator Iyiola Omisore into the APC.
Akinwumi said, “Our party’s doors are opened to all committed, focused and progressively minded people who share in spirit and body, the vision of our amiable Governor in his stride to take Osun State into her rightful position among the Federating States in Nigeria.
Aregbesola should accept the reality of Omisore’s APC membership – Ex-lawmaker

A former Osun State House of Assembly, Minority Leader, Akinwale Akinwole, on Monday, urged the Minister of Interior, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, to accept Senator Iyiola Omisore as a member of the All Progressives Congress.
Akinwale, who left Peoples Democratic Party while serving as a member of the State House of Assembly, in 2015, to join the APC, before the 2018 governorship election, made the appeal in a statement in Osogbo.
The ex-state lawmaker, who was reacting to a video of an address by ex-Osun State Governor, Aregbesola, while revalidating his APC membership at his Ifofin Ward, Ilesa, last Friday, said, “Aregbesola should stop feeling threatened because Omisore has come and will expose all Aregbesola’s spoiler game against the re-election of Governor Oyetola.
