Premier Danielle Smith says she is glad to see many employers and businesses who are changing their protocols on vaccination but critics are suggesting these changes are being made because of "harassment and threats."
On Nov. 18, the Arctic Winter Games International Committee (AWGIC) said it revoked its policy on mandatory COVID-19 vaccines "to align with current public health advice." At a news conference in Edmonton on Monday however, the Alberta premier said she asked the Games to drop the vaccine requirement in response to the committee's request for funding.

The region won’t have to wait too much longer to host the Arctic Winter Games after originally getting postponed.
The AWG International Committee announced on Tuesday the RMWB will now host the competition from January 29 to February 4, 2023.
They were set to be held here next year, however, they were moved due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
“It will indeed be our time to shine with the support of our partners, volunteers, and our community,” said Melissa Blake, Co-Chair of the Wood Buffalo Arctic Winter Games
