Twenty-four hours after winning the one-meter at the 2023 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships – becoming the first Tar Heel diver to ever win a national title – Vazquez made it a springboard sweep by claiming the three-meter.
Aranza Vazquez becomes the first diver in program history to be crowned a national champion on the one-meter. She is now the seventh individual female Tar Heel all-time to win an NCAA title, and the first since 2012.
The Hurricanes’ swim and dive team returned from the ACC Championships over the weekend with three gold medals, two school records, a national record and an extensive list of finalists.
