TCAPS Board Approves Virtual Learning Plan Due to Increase in COVID-19 Numbers

TCAPS Board Approves Virtual Learning Plan Due to Increase in COVID-19 Numbers April 6, 2021 At a special meeting on Tuesday, the TCAPS Board approved the plan to stay virtual this week. Monday, we told you the Grand Traverse Health Department directed middle and high school students to pause in-person learning. The health department says its 7 day average is 39 new COVID-19 cases per day. A number they haven’t seen since December. TCAPS superintendent says he and other supers in the county will meet with the health department Friday. “If things hopefully improve and we start to see a downward trend, we’ll be back Monday. You know, and we’re real hopeful for that, but if for some reason it goes in the other direction I’ll inform the board and we’ll have them make a decision from there,” said Jon VanWagoner.
