PETALING JAYA: The appointment of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's former political secretary Farhash Wafa Salvador as the chairman of 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings Bhd and group executive chairman of Apex Equity should be explained, says Bersatu's Datuk Khlir Mohd Nor.
7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings Bhd chairman Datuk Seri Robin Tan Yeong Ching has stepped down “to pursue other interests”. He is succeeded by Farhash Wafa Salvador, the former political secretary to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Tan, the son of 7-Eleven’s major shareholder Tan Sri Vincent Tan Chee Yioun with a 41.8% stake, was appointed to the group’s board as chairman, non-independent non-executive director on Nov 25, 2021.
Datuk Choong Chee Meng, who controls ACE Group formerly the second largest shareholder of Apex Equity Holdings Bhd has resigned as Apex Equity's group managing director.
Apex Equity Holdings Bhd's second largest shareholder, ACE Group, and its subsidiary Apex Securities Bhd are seeking leave from the High Court to commence judicial review proceedings against the Securities Commission Malaysia for imposing "additional conditions" in respect of Apex's Capital Markets and Service Licence.
Apex Equity Holdings Bhd's share price has leapt over 13% a day after announcing that the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) initiated legal action against the company in relation to its second-largest shareholder, ACE Group.
