Presidential task force for a green socio-economy

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has appointed a Presidential Task Force to transform Sri Lanka’s economy into a green socio-economy with sustainable solutions to climate change. The Task Force has been named as the “Presidential Task Force on Creating a Green Sri Lanka with Sustainable Solutions to Climate Change”. The Task Force, chaired by Basil Rajapaksa, the Special Representative of the President, consists of 46 members including five Cabinet Ministers, a Governor, 14 State Ministers and a female Member of Parliament. The other members of the Task Force are; Ministers R.M.C.B. Ratnayake, Chamal Rajapaksa, Mahinda Amaraweera, Mahindananda Aluthgamage and Ramesh Pathirana, Governor Anuradha Yahampath, State Ministers Duminda Dissanayake, Arundika Fernando, Roshan Ranasinghe, Kanaka Herath, Janaka Wakkumbura, Mohan de Silva, Wimalaweera Dissanayake, Kanchana Wijesekara, S. Posted on April 16th, 2021 Courtesy Adaderana The national program titled ‘Jeeva Thuru Udanaya,’ organized by the State Ministry of Agriculture to make the general public aware of the nutritional and economic value of the Moringa (drumstick) tree, is expected to kick off tomorrow (April 17). Manusath Derana, the CSR initiative of TV Derana, will join hands with this program to distribute a total of 1 million Moringa plants. Speaking to Ada Derana ‘BIG FOCUS’ earlier today, State Minister Shasheendra Rajapaksa’s Private Secretary Sanjeewa Wijekoon said the initiative will be implemented at 2,5000 temples across all districts. Chairman of Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) Dr. Anuruddha Padeniya meanwhile pointed out that the drumstick plant was used to reinstate the undernourished regions in the world.
