Police managed to stop Rs 1.6 crore of the swindled money from being transferred. The fraud unfolded within a month with promises of lucrative share market trading tips through a new app. An FIR has been registered under sections 419 (impersonation) and 420 (cheating) of the IPC and relevant provisions of the IT Act. A special team has been formed to track down the cybercriminals involved.
