It is so excited to be here and you can just hear the buzz around us the people coming in and everything because in 2001 First Lady Laura Bush have been very successful as a first lady of texas signed the texas book fair. It was renowned. So when she got to washington d. C. She asked my predecessor wouldnt it bedr nice if we hada book festival because i dont think we have and he said we do now. [laughter] so that in 2001 First Lady Laura Bush i must say the first librarian to be first lady, cut the ribbon on the National Mall for the book festival and it has been successful ever since.

And only possible because of you, our sponsors but does take a village to put on a festival like this. I want to acknowledge the more than a 1000 volunteers.
