SWANSEA The 100 Acre Farm in Swansea will host its first-ever sunflower picking event this weekend.
For $1 a flower, you can pick your own at the family owned and operated farm located at 253 Cummings Road. The family-friendly event will take place Saturday and Sunday, July 31 and Aug 1, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

NEW BEDFORD New Bedford Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man they say was involved in three separate robberies occurring in the city’s North End within the last month.
The robberies occurred on April 29 and May 12, at the Walgreens at the corner of Tarkiln Hill Road and Acushnet Avenue, and then at the St. Anne’s Credit Union at 3087 Acushnet Avenue.
Police say the suspect is a white male, approximately 5-9 and heavyset with a medium complexion. They say he is known to produce a black firearm, and provide notes demanding money. During each robbery, the suspect was masked and wearing gray sweatpants, black zipped sweatshirt with a white t-shirt underneath, and a black skull cap.
New Bedford Police Seeking Suspect in Alleged Armed Bank Robbery
NEW BEDFORD New Bedford Police are searching for a suspect in an alleged armed robbery of a Far North End bank.
Police say that at about 5:52 p.m. on April 29, a report of an armed robbery came in from St. Anne’s Credit Union at 3092 Acushnet Avenue. According to police, it was reported that a man appeared at the counter and produced a note, claiming to carry a gun. He fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect is described as a white heavyset male, approximately 5-9, wearing a dark zip-up hooded sweatshirt with a white shirt underneath, light gray sweatpants, a gray winter hat, and a black neck gaiter.
