DAVAO CITY, June 2 (PIA) – With the rising cases of COVID19 in the region, the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) recently increased its bed capacity for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) from 35 beds to 87.
Medical chief of the SPMC Dr. Ricardo Audan bared that the hospital was pushed to convert all its single bed pay ward into an ICU to accommodate the influx of COVID patients needing intensive care service at the said medical center.
“ Sa ngayon 100% malamang ang ating ICU bed capacity kasi kahapon isang bed na lang ang available. Ang atin ring ward ay nasa 92% capacity na (Currently our ICU bed capacity would have reached 100% because yesterday only one bed was available, our ward is also on 92% capacity already),
