Early behavioural problems predict adolescent mental health difficulties: Study

Early behavioural problems predict adolescent mental health difficulties: Study ANI | Updated: Feb 13, 2021 19:52 IST Cambridge [England], February 13 (ANI): A new study indicated that a substantial proportion of adolescent mental health and behavioural difficulties can be predicted years before they arise. The research, led by the University of Cambridge and Royal Holloway, University of London, showed that children who experience certain behavioural challenges, like hyperactivity and anxiety, are more likely to go on to develop poor mental health in adolescence, such as emotional difficulties. It also found that children with behavioural difficulties are more likely to experience problems as adolescents if they come from less affluent, or disadvantaged backgrounds.
