Oklahoma’s state House voted 78-19 to pass a near-complete ban on abortions in mid-March, legislation that would go farther than the Texas six-week ban on which it was modeled.
As Roe v. Wade faces scrutiny in the U.S. Supreme Court, Oklahoma lawmakers are submitting bills copied from other states designed to deprive women of their right to an abortion.
Arguments before the Supreme Court last week addressed whether access to abortion significantly impacts the ability of women to participate fully in society and the economy.
