Legal advisors told city officials that a state law prohibiting liquor sales within 1,000 feet of a state institution did not apply at the Birch Street location.
New state laws regulating full-strength, THC products will bring a new line of business to the area, including, possibly, the municipal liquor store Rapids Spirits.
Local representatives came from city hall, county government, the chamber of commerce, Park Rapids Schools and arts organizations. They discussed tourism, workforce shortages and housing issues with the U.S. senator.
