The Communication Workers Union (CWU) has updated its members at Royal Mail Group on its “positive” discussions with the new Royal Mail CEO, while also outlining details of a new Christmas incentive scheme for workers.
Postal workers spoke to reporting teams from the World Socialist Web Site (WSWS) in response to the PWRFC statement “Reinstate all victimised reps and postal workers! End the CWU-Lord Falconer conspiracy at Royal Mail!” and the WSWS article “Postal workers in Scotland and London vote for action as CWU-Royal Mail partnership ushers in savage attacks”.
Postal workers at mail centres and delivery offices in London and Manchester expressed anger and deep-seated opposition to the sellout agreement rammed through in July by Communication Workers Union leaders Dave Ward and Andy Furey.
Any claim that the yes vote represented a popular endorsement of the sellout agreement has been refuted by the conduct of Communication Workers Union leaders Ward and Furey since, who have effectively gone to ground.
