Two Nevada state troopers in Las Vegas were killed in a hit-and-run Thursday while helping another driver on the state's busiest freeway, authorities said.
Sgt. Michael Abbate and Trooper Alberto Felix had stopped to check on a driver asleep behind the wheel on Interstate 15 near downtown Las Vegas around 3:30 a.m before the suspect, driving a white Chevrolet HHR, allegedly struck both men and fled the scene.
Two Nevada Highway Patrol troopers were struck and killed Thursday on northbound Interstate 15 near Charleston Boulevard. Las Vegas police are investigating.
