Event: Updates to Government of Peru Quarantine and Movement Restrictions (May 10, 2021)
On May 8, 2021, the Government of Peru announced the extension of emergency self-quarantine and movement restrictions for three weeks due to high levels of COVID-19 spread, effective Monday, May 10, 2021 to May 30, 2021.
The Jorge Chavez International airport remains open, and domestic land and air transportation continue with reduced occupancy.
As of May 10, 2021, Lima and Callao are now considered on “Very High Alert.”
Regions considered on “Extreme Alert” include Amazonas (Chachapoyas), Ancash (Huarmey), Apurimac (Abancay, Chincheros, y Grau), Arequipa (Islaya), Ayacucho (Huamanga, Huanta, y La Mar), Cajamarca (Hualgayoc), Cusco (Cusco, Anta, Canchis), Huancavelica (Tayacaja), Huanuco (Ambo y Leoncio Prado), Ica (Chincha), Junin (Chanchamayo, Concepcion, Jauja, Satipo, Tarma, Yauli), La Libertad (Virú), Lambayeque (Chiclayo y Lambayeque), Madre de Dio
