The Nigerian Navy has announced the redeployment of no fewer than 257 senior officers, including 60 Rear Admirals, 123 Commodores and 74 Captains.
A statement by the Director of Information, Nigerian Navy, Commodore Suleiman Dahun, said the shakeup was a sequel to the appointment of new Service Chiefs.
The statement read, “The Nigerian Navy has released major postings of its senior officers following the recent appointment of new Service Chiefs. The major postings involved a total of 257 senior officers. The postings affected 60 rear admirals, 123 commodores and 74 captains.”
“In the postings, Rear Admiral Francis Isaac, formerly the Navy Secretary, has been appointed Chief of Administration, Naval Headquarters while Rear Admiral Abraham Adaji, formerly Group Managing Director, Nigerian Navy Holdings Limited is now the Chief of Training and Operations, Naval Headquarters.

Ten persons who were involved in motor accident along between Jigawa and Kano State have been confirmed dead.
The young men were said to have been on theor way from Gagarawa Local Government in Jigawa State to Kano State for the Nigerian Navy recruitment when the accident occurred along Ringim.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Abdu Jinjiri who confirmed their death to Channels Television, said two others were injured and are receiving treatment at the Ringim General Hospital.
According to Jinjiri, the accident involved a trailer and a Volkswagen golf three which was carrying 12 passengers.
The vehicle conveying them had reportedly rammed into a trailer, which was wrongly parked by the road.

The Nigerian Navy Aptitude Test for the 2020 recruitment exercise was scheduled for today at 30 centres across the country.
Reports stated that the ten candidates left their homes around 5 am, hoping to reach their destination on time for the exam but they had met with an untimely death.

The police said the victims, from Gagarawa Local Government Area of Jigawa, met their death as their vehicle rammed into a trailer, which was parked wrongly by the road.
Residents also said the crash occurred around Ringim Town in Jigawa, about 70 kilometres to Kano where they were billed to sit for Nigerian Navy screening examination.
Witnesses said the victims left their homes around 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, hoping to reach their destination on schedule. However, the truck, loaded with sugarcane, which was parked by the roadside, terminated their dreams.
