The Pacers made a move on the fringe of their roster Friday, releasing Brian Bowen II and signing Amida Brimah to take Bowen’s spot with a two-way contract.
However, the move raises questions about the status of Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner for the reminder of the season since Brimah is a center which could thrust him into a role in the playing rotation out of necessity, if the Pacers expect to remain short-handed in the front court for the final few weeks of the season.

On April 6, a Very Smart Blogger opined that Amida Brimah was one frontcourt injury away from his first NBA minutes.
That prediction is one step closer to becoming true, as the Indiana Pacers have signed Brimah to a two-way contract. On Monday, it was announced Pacers star center Myles Turner was out indefinitely with a toe injury.
The Pacers are jockeying for better seeding in the Eastern Conference. Indiana currently sits at the ninth, only 4.5 games back from the fourth-place Atlanta Hawks. Not only is Turner out for the foreseeable future, but fellow big man Domantas Sabonis is also day-to-day with a back injury and Goga Bitadze is battling an ankle injury. Brimah may be stepping into some very important minutes for the Pacers.
